Late night fishing offshore is a rewarding experience that is not to be missed. Especially during the long, hot days of summer, overnight fishing trips offer you two shots at the prime-times for catching big, hard-fighting fish. During the hottest months, the best shot at large fish like sailfish is trolling the 120-300 foot depths further out offshore. Mackerel may be found closer to shore, but if you’re going for the real fight, an overnight trip just can’t be beaten.

Late Night Fish

Yellowfin tuna are another important late-summer species that offer a spectacular fight and fill the cooler. By summer’s end, the average yellowfin will weigh around 45 pounds. For anglers looking for a challenge, amberjack and barracuda are a little picky during the hottest days, but are amenable to live bait, especially around ship wrecks or reefs.
